Independent Music Supervisor
Irma de Wind is an independent music supervisor with a specialization in film and
video games. Originally hailing from The Netherlands, she began her career in
London in 2014 at Earworm Music, working on film, TV, and advertising projects
including American Honey and Super Dark Times.
Leaving Earworm in 2018, Irma went freelance to work on several films,
documentaries, and adverts. Alongside these independent projects, she is also worked as an in-house Music Supervisor for AAA video game studio Frontier
Developments (including F1® Manager, Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution 2,
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin).

What is the job of a music supervisor? A music supervisor oversees all the music-related aspects of a game. They negotiate the best deals between the composer and/or rights holders of the music, ensuring that both parties are satisfied
In this talk, I will explain the role of a music supervisor and why you need one. This includes explaining the differences between commercial, library, and composed music, as well as discussing the steps for clearing commercial music and what to look out for in composer deals.
